Day 5 – Remain Calm

Day 5

Remain Calm

“Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT

Easier done than said! Right? Sure, if we speak positive, positive outcomes will hit our daily lives. If you do not have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all. Do not fear the terror that is around you because terror feeds fear.

My favorite television shows are crime and suspense. When I watch them, I sometimes know what the next move that the criminal is about to make.  From my intense studying of the Criminal Justice system, I learned how to stand firm in the middle of a dangerous situation. Our professors taught us how to watch everything from different angles and listen to every sound. The best thing I learned was never to let the enemy know you were afraid. When you allow the enemy to know that you are scared, he also already won. Give no place to the devil.

Remain Calm! Fake it until you make it. I like to say, laugh until you cry.

Allow the word of God to train you on how to combat fear. Remain calm in situations where you should be screaming at the hand of the battle. Reverse psychology shrinks the plans of the evil one.  He has no power, do not give him strength in any area.

Be strong and courageous;

If you were in the middle of a robbery, they would say, “remain calm, no one will get hurt.” If you are in the midst of a medical emergency, they would say, “remain calm, we are here to help.” If you were in a car wreck, the officers would say, “remain calm, help is on the way.”

The Lord says, “Remain Calm; I will go with you.”

Remaining calm, show faith and belief that the  Lord has it ALL under control.

If He did not have it all under control, He would not have told us so.

Have faith and trust in the Lord as you go through life. Love Him because He is the one that will calm the storm. Even as it is storming, He will never leave you nor forsake you.

What is the most significant storm in your life now? If you answered that question, is God bigger?

Prayer: Lord, Father, I love you. Forgive me for giving in to fear. Forgive me for running to fear instead of using Your word against it. Thank you for being a Teacher, Lord teach me how to be healthy and courageous in the midst of a national crisis. Lord hold me up, so that I may remain calm and worship You only. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
