Day 2 – Don’t Dim His Light

Day 2

Don’t Dim His Light

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1 KJV

The title should have been, “Don’t TRY to dim His light” because we cannot dim His life; His life is undimmable. We often dim His presence in our personal lives when we chose to fall into the captivity of fear.

Declaring the Lord is my light, and my salvation does not always make life a cake-walk. Claiming that the Lord is our light, it will ease the pressures of fear and releases a peace that surpasses all understanding.

The unknown may seem dim, but He is the only pure light. When I was pregnant with my youngest child, I had everything planned out. Still, God had another plan and had a different road map for my child and I. Within the first trimester of my pregnancy, and I was diagnosed Cholestasis. Cholestasis is a liver disease that only appears while pregnant, which caused so many different issues on top of the typical pregnancy complications. I felt like I lost control of my life and my unborn daughter’s life. I was so afraid of the outcome.

Many of us do not enjoy life when we are not a driver and must be a passenger, but we must allow God to drive in our lives.

When we allow God to drive, tragedy seems like a victory because we no longer believe in our path.

We know His path is the only way. Lord, not my will, but let Your will be done, that is what we all say.

Until the ball is against the fence, fear entangled me.

In my experience, I was giving more attention to the disease than I was to the one that can cure the disease. Fear will place your thoughts on the tragedy and remove your focus from the Word of God. In a crisis, be aware of the tricks of the enemy.

I realized I was feeding my disease with fear, and I had to repent and ask the Lord to show me His hand in the tragedy.

That is what God will do, and He will show you His hand. There is power in His hand, and there is healing in His hand. There is strength in His hands

During the storm, no matter what, He is your light (that shines) and your salvation (that saves), you have no reason to fear because He is your strength, and in Him whom should you be afraid.

During the full duration of my pregnancy, I had every reason for my flesh to be afraid, but His word will never change. He is still the same.

Your life may feel trapped at the moment, but be not afraid God is STILL God. Fear not because He has it all under His control.

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for trying to dim your light Lord, help me to acknowledge your light, your salvation, and your strength. Lord teach me to destroy fear that is over my life. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
