5 Ways to Build Your Self-Worth

You Are Worth More!

Psalm 139:13–14 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Building your Self-Worth helps you to identify who you are in Christ. Understanding that you are worthy will help you make better decisions for the well-being of your purpose in the Kingdom. No longer allow the devil to hold you bound!

START HERE. START TODAY.

1. Stop Comparing Yourself To Others – Find worthiness in YOU! The people that we are comparing ourselves with, they have issues also. {because, we all do}! YOUR life is the BEST life to live. So stop comparing yourself to what people portray. If there is something that you do not like about yourself, YOU can change it. If we are not careful, we will find ourselves making adjustments to our lives to match our friend’s lifestyle. While never really figuring out who we are because we are busy trying to fill shoes that are either too small or too large. Wear YOUR shoe sizes so that you won’t hinder who God had in mind.  When you stop comparing yourself, you find out that you are great! {worthiness} That you are good enough! {worthiness} You do not have to pretend! {worthiness} REFLECTION: It is okay to have role models and mentors; it because less okay when worship them because you have told yourself that they are better than you. They may be great, but SO ARE YOU!

2. Take Care Of Yourself – YOURSELF deserves love. You have taken care of everyone else, and they are walking around healthy and confident, and you are struggling to get out the bed. Does that sound familiar? I am sure I am not alone! Get up! Get out of that bed and shower. Drink some coffee or water if you prefer, stay hydrated while building. And after quarantine get your hair DiD! While in isolation, develop a routine to develop your spirit by reading the Word of the Lord. {suggest; start with the Proverbs} proverbs will give you wisdom as you began to take better care of yourself. Create a list of affirmations to speak out loud every day. Exercise will help you feel better about yourself, your looks, and powerful for your overall health. See a therapist. Go on a walk, as long as it is 6ft away. Just to be safe, walk 12 feet away and double up on your mask. It is time to be selfish because it is time to build your-self worth.  QUESTION: When was the last time you were intentional about you? When you become intentional about you, you have less time to entertain the thoughts of unworthiness.

3. Reclaim Your Body – Stop allowing people to withdraw from your Self-Worth without making healthy deposits into YOU! 1 Corinthians 6:19 puts it this way; Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; Take care of yourself! Remove yourself from all toxic activities. I am not saying that it will not be a hard task, and I know detoxing can cause uncomfortable adjustments and environments. But, you are reading this because you are no longer comfortable feeling less than who God has ordained for your life. You are here to take back everything that the enemy has stolen from you and EVERYTHING that you have freely given away. So that you may find your self-worth.

FAST – so that you can reset.

Eat Healthy – so that you may think wise thoughts.

Love you – so that you know that you are more than sex.

When you reclaim your body, you walk naked in the garden unashamed {not literal} but emotional and mental.

ACTIONS: Here are A FEW ACTIONS to START reclaiming:

No sex until marriage*

No to getting intoxicate with alcohol*

No partaking in drugs*

No lying to fit in*

No (whatever) that easily beset you*

It will only empower you WITH AN unbreakable self-worth attitude.

4. Surrender Your Thoughts – To the only person that can handle them. God knows it, not me, or your parents, or spouse, and please not your children. Surrender your fears over to the Lord. The bible teaches us that the battle of fear is not ours; it is the Lord. He will fight every battle for you, but you have to surrender. Yes, the Lord knows everything already, but you have to open your mouth to the Lord with thanksgiving in advance. Tell Him about all your troubles. Fear is a weight that does not come from God, and it is a weight that we often allow ourselves to get consumed in, and fear overshadows our self-worth. If you do not surrender your TRUE concerns to the Lord, it often will blind you from the knowledge that no matter what, you are worthy. HOW: Just because He knows He would like to hear from you. Tell the Lord exactly how you feel because this removes the layers from between you and Him. If you feel shameful, tell Him. If you are having a difficult time with forgiveness, tell Him. If you are afraid, tell him. If you think you are unloved, tell Him. Remember, feeling anything less than what God has ordained for your life is a hinder to your self-worth, so you must change the way you think.

5. Congratulate Yourself – Psalms 42 teaches us to encourage ourselves in the Lord. EVERYONE will NOT congratulate YOU; and you will BE OKAY! When you make a stride forward from what you know used to hold you bound, smile. It is imperative to encourage yourself even if no one is there to push you. God is watching you! He is the trigger to your completion. He is the aim of your final target. Depend on Him. Encouraging yourself will uplift your spirit. Start telling yourself that you are smart early, as Cindy Trimm would say “command your mornings.” Command your thoughts. Command your life to prosper and be filled with a multitude of self-worth enhancements. START HERE: Congratulate yourself on not comparing yourself. For taking care of yourself. For surrendering your thoughts. For Reclaiming your body. For starting a journey to build your self-worth.
